CREEKVIEW @ CHISOLM TRAIL

The Creekview Mustangs opened the 2012 in Ft. Worth against the Chisolm Trail Rangers, in the Rangers’ inaugural varsity football season. The Mustangs won 46-0.

Creekview showed dominance on the ground last Friday, rushing for 328 yards on only 46 carries. The Mustang’s leading rusher from 2011, led the field again with 134 rushing yards, averaging over 10 yards per carry.

Returning starting QB David Blough needed few attempts to prove he was the same Blough from last season; he completed 8 of his 13 pass attempts for 118 yards and three TD’s. He also ran for 21 yards. Blough threw for 1034 yards in 2011, with nine total TD’s.

Senior wide out Dylan Kittrell had an unexpected breakout performance, scoring three TD’s (two receiving, one rush), and catching three passes for 60 yards. Kittrell had one catch all of last season.

Creekview as a team gained over 500 yards of total offense, while shutting out the opposing Rangers. The Mustangs look toward their next game against Saginaw, who are coming off a 28-7 win over  The Colony.

Saginaw will meet Creekview at Standridge on Friday, September 7.
